Mind Australia in partnership with Homelessness Australia is hosting a webinar discussing the development of the federal government’s Housing and Homelessness Plan.

The way home webinar: How can The Housing and Homelessness Plan meet the needs of people experiencing significant mental ill-health? will feature speakers from Mind and Homelessness Australia. The webinar will focus on the Plan’s development, and workshop key priorities to ensure people experiencing mental ill-health and homelessness are included as part of the policy design.

The National Housing and Homelessness Plan will be developed by the Australian Government in collaboration with state and territory governments. The Plan will be a 10-year strategy, and will set out a shared vision to inform future housing and homelessness policy in Australia.

“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to contribute to a national plan that will deliver significant reforms that address the housing, homelessness and mental health challenges we are facing across Australia,” Mind CEO Gill Callister said.

“This webinar will bring together the mental health and homelessness sectors to discuss key priorities of the National Housing and Homelessness Plan and work collaboratively on submissions that lead to meaningful change for Australians experiencing mental ill-health and homelessness.”

“In a plan to end homelessness we need changes that will prevent people experiencing mental ill-health from ever becoming homeless, as well as changes to better support people to escape homelessness and sustain a home,” Ms Colvin said.

  • Mind Australia Executive Director Housing Strategy Mark Heeney
  • Homelessness Australia CEO Kate Colvin
