This service supports children and young people who are at risk of or may be affected by a mental health issue. 

For families with immediate, short-term support needs we offer: 

  • assessment of needs, information and referrals to other services, community outreach, mental health education and community development activities, school based support groups and support to access community events. 

For families with longer-term support needs we offer: 

  • assessment and identification of needs, practical assistance and home-based support, linking with other relevant services, targeted therapeutic groups, community outreach, mental health education and community development activities, school based support groups and support to access community events.

Who for:

This service is for children and young people (and their families) who:

  • are aged 0-18 years
  • are living in the Limestone Coast region
  • may be showing signs of being affected by a mental health issue (although no formal diagnosis is required).

How to access:

Eligible people can be referred by a family member or carer, GP, other service providers or by mental health professionals. Parents and guardians can also self-refer. This service is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Social Services as part of the Family Mental Health Support Services (FMHSS) program.

Outcome statement:

Increase your understanding and awareness of mental health issues, and support children and young people (and their families) to improve their mental health, resilience and confidence.
